Back to the Basik's
During the Christmas season several years ago, Chef Heidi Basik found herself perplexed with what kind of gift to give to her friends and family. Heidi was no ordinary girl. She was a hospitable and passionate chef. And since chefs love good friends as much as they love good food, Heidi thought, "how can I share good tasting food with all my family and friends?" It was then she realized the best way to do that was turn her all-natural, homemade spice blend into a tasteful gift of love.
Heidi cleverly wrapped her spice blends in Chinese take-out boxes and gave them to friends and family who loved receiving such wonderful handmade gifts. After Christmas, everyone made scrumptious dinners using her various spice blends and from there, it didn't take long before they were begging Heidi for more.
Anne, one of Heidi's good friends, encouraged her to sell her spice blends. But Heidi just wanted to be a chef. Anne couldn't bear to watch Heidi not share her culinary talent with the world. She knew how to run a business and convinced Heidi that she could continue as a fabulous chef making the spice blends, while Anne would help market and sell them. They shook hands and Back to the Basik's was born!
Since that day Heidi and Anne became known as the "Spice Girls" around town. And now everyone's taste buds live happily ever after!
